My thoughts and observations re: the Memorial

while sitting through my annual visit to a kingdom hall tonight, i had the following thoughts/observations:.

1. the speaker appealed to the kids: "how many here are 15 years of age or younger?

" he then went on to tell us how exciting it would be to "lie down" with lions that eat straw instead of flesh, and further discussed jw kids napping with leopards, bears, and cattle.

" The majority of the talk was focused on explaining why the vast majority of the witnesses do not get to partake of the crackers and wine at the Memorial "celebration." Then the crackers and wine were passed around, and no one in the hall ate or drank. Nice celebration, guys. You get teased with food after you're told why you can't eat it."

I found this particularly disturbing. I ran out in tears because as a Christian I believe all Jesus's followers should do this, and I found the to-ing and fro-ing offensive, after we're told Jesus died for us but didn't really...

haven't been to the kh in a couple of weeks but went to the memorial along with hubby because i'm still in the early stages of my fade.. the speaker gave a really nice talk which was divided into 4 parts: why we need ransom, how it benefits us, who should partake and how to keep benefiting.

i was ok with the first 2 parts cuz he backed up with scriptures.

then the part about who should partake departed from scripture and went into this convoluted thing about how although jesus died for us, we're not to partake because jesus didn't make a covenant with us so we don't partake.

I'd love to go to another church service!! But I'd be outed for that for sure, and I'm not ready for that just yet.

Interesting WTW mentions comparing to communism...communism and totalitarianism have been pet reading projects of mine these last few years, and I see the WT uses the same tactics. Sure, they don't send you to a forced labour camp for dissidence, but they find other ways of getting rid of you.

You guys are great! I feel better now. How's this, a couple of sisters came up to me and said, 'how are you? You've been sick haven't you?' Because I've missed a lot of meetings. I told them I was great and never felt better, health great, enjoying work, etc. Stumped them a bit but it passed because I asked after their health etc.

The first one who approached me asked if I was off my meds cuz she saw me bolt out to the side room in tears. The truth was, I took an extra half dose that day to deal with the anxiety.

And we got the dang co visit next week. Hubby will be re brainwashed.

Then he spoke about the emblems and told us that we're welcome to partake yet none of us should...very confusing.

The trauma came when they presented the body and blood of my Lord and Saviour yet I couldn't partake- I was put in a position where I was presented with the blood and body of my lord and was expected to reject them! It tore me up inside so badly I ran into the back room and bawled my eyes out rather than reject my Lord.

The whole thing was so contradictory and you can have it yet you can't, Jesus died for you but not for you...it broke my heart.

Who are the men that REALLY Run the WT?

with all of the manipulating of people's lives and subliminaly coercing witnesses to give their wills and other belongings to the wt upon their death or sooner.

also with all of the manipulating of younger one's in terms of coercing them into not doing anything with they're lives except "spiritual pursuits" for the sole purpose of furthering their own corporate interests, is there possibly some men behind the scenes who really call the shots and using the gb just as puppets in a huge money making scam knowing full well the the whole jw thing is a complete pile of crap?

in other words, are these "bosses" conscientiously manipulating the r & f on purpose knowing full well what they are doing to their member's in so many ways?

The Westboro Baptist Church uses term "Disfellowship"

i just got through reading a biography by lauren drain "banished-a memoir" where she writes about surviving her years in the westboro baptist church and i noticed that they use the term disfellowship.

i thought it was interesting since i had never heard of another religion using that term.

hmmmmm so a "hate group" uses that term.....interesting don't you think?.
